Alyawarr Ingkerr-wenh

Alyawarr angka

Alyawarr angka means 'Alyawarr talking together'. It refers to the means by which decisions are made at a regional level, particularly those with a strong cultural element.

It is not a corporation, but can be thought of as a type of parliament, similar in nature to the Sami Parliament.

In recent times, we have tended to deal with Western institutions through Alyawarr corporations, which include:

Apmer Aharreng-arenykenh Aknganenty has been taking a lead role in the development of a regional response, particularly in relation to the impositon of the Federal Government's Northern Territory Emergency Response. Previously, a regional approach was being pursued through Alyawarr Ingkerr-wenh Aboriginal Corporation, however this organisation has since been deregistered.
